What is Science Based Learning?
Science-based learning at English With Rabia begins with evidence but it goes one step further. It applies a scientific framework to how that evidence is used. The methodology itself is iterative, testable and revisable.
Evidence is gathered, hypotheses are tested, fiindings are scrutinised and when better evidence changes what we know about learning, our methodology changes with it.
At its heart, science is the art of trying to disprove your own hypotheses. To do that, you have to be willing to leave the certainty of what you already know, ask what else might be possible, and allow the evidence to take you somewhere new. Rigour makes that exploration trustworthy, creativity makes it possible.
That principle shapes both how and what we teach, and how and what you learn. Just as our methodology is tested, challenged and revised, learning asks you to test what you know, challenge existing patterns and build new ones. The process on both sides is active rather than fixed.
Our aim is not simply to give you more knowledge about communication. Learning requires lasting change: developing and strengthening the cognitive processes, language patterns and behaviours that allow you to retrieve what you know and apply it consistently.
We therefore draw on research across learning science, cognitive psychology, linguistics, neuroscience and behavioural science.
